What are your career & professional goals? I would like to finish my undergrad as an engineer and then go into medicine. I hope to one day become a pediatric endocrinologist with a background in research. My goal is to help young diabetics like myself clinically, but also be on the frontlines of searching for a cure!

Why did you join the UFDI ambassador program? I wanted to join the UFDI Ambassador Program not only to connect with other UF students with diabetes, but to raise awareness about diabetes in general. Additionally, this has been a great opportunity to promote the UFDI’s many initiatives, as well as the works of some of the best diabetes researchers in the world!

How has being a UFDI ambassador impacted you? Since becoming a UFDI Ambassador, I have made many new friends both in the program as well as in other diabetes programs here in Gainesville. It has been awesome to connect and relate to other kids my age living with the same disease as me. Also, I have been able to learn more about the works of the UFDI and spread this knowledge to my friends, family, and even strangers! I am looking forward to creating and implementing more initiatives and outreach programs to continue spreading the reach of the UFDI.

What has been you favorite quarantine pastime? Golfing, spending more time with my family at home, and learning new songs on the piano.
